An Introduction to the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme
This publication explains the PVG Scheme introduced recently by Scottish Government. It gives an overview, explains the terminology, clarifies who needs to join and provides information about joining and fees. It also puts the PVG scheme in the context of intergenerational practice by providing relevant examples. The new system comes into operation on 28 February 2011. Published January 2011 (7GB PDF).

Users Guide to Intergenerational Learning
This short illustrated guide outlines intergenerational learning and its benefits. It provides the reasons why learning between generations is important, possible learning outcomes, along with practical hints for novice organisers. The focus is on planned activities which have clear learning outcomes. It links it to the Curriculum for Excellence and provides examples and additional online resources. Published January 2011 (6GB PDF).

Intergenerational Place-based Education: where schools, communities, and nature meet by Greg Mannion, Claire Adey and Jonathen Lynch. Stirling: University of Stirling for Scottish Centre for Intergenerational Practice (2010). The report is an exploration of existing and future synergies between intergenerational practice, formal school-linked provisions and the field of place-focused approaches to education. (PDF 3GB)

Voices from the Family Business: Connecting Generations - All in the Business Together. The Scottish Centre for Intergenerational Practice and the Scottish Family Business Association jointly ran a series of intergenerational workshops for families in business together across Scotland in 2009. This 8-page report has been compiled by those involved to record what was achieved and the lessons learned. Published Spring 2010 (486KB PDF).

Connecting Generations – A Guide to Best Practice.  A 32-page practical guide to developing your own intergenerational programmes. Case studies of pioneering projects in Scotland. Published 2009 (926KB PDF).

A Guide to Mentoring Across the Generations  A useful introduction to intergenerational mentoring of interest to practitioners, managers and volunteers. Published 2008.
